One Direction Concert 2013

Melynda gave Marissa this ticket to the One Direction Concert for her 15th birthday (she got two and let one of Marissa's friends purchase the other) ... Marissa would turn 16 years old before she could even attend the concert.  But .... that day FINALLY came!  And Marissa claims it was well worth the wait.

She was extra happy to have her favorite Anaka come to the concert with her!

Ty and I drove them up to SLC.  We left PLENTY early - but ended up waiting an hour in line at the exit to get to the Maverick Center.  I had NO idea how crazy it was going to be!  And - at the end of the concert we were trapped in the restaurant parking lot for over an hour.  But, still - so grateful that Marissa got to be there! There were girls wandering around outside the Maverick Center in tears because they didn't have tickets to get in.  I'm not gonna lie - it kinda made me cry.  

Marissa's very first text to me after we dropped them off and they got inside was:  "I am going to die!  Everyone is screaming nonstop!"  :)  I told her to embrace the moment.  And, believe it or not - she got in a few yells herself!  Both she and Anaka said it was SUCH an amazing concert.  One Direction sang for almost 2 hours straight.  I thought that was pretty impressive.

Ty and I got to enjoy a yummy dinner out - and a great long visit in the car while we waited for the girls.  It actually was super fun and relaxing (and then infuriating while we gradually got trapped in our premium parking space as cars just filled up every space they could in the parking lot).

I sure love seeing my kiddos happy - and this concert is one Marissa will fondly remember her whole life!  Thanks, M!
