Pioneer Day 2013

Aaron had the opportnity to march in the Pioneer Day Parade in the 2000 strong Army of Heleman.  We knew it would be amazing, so we for sure staked out our spots the afternoon before so we could be in attendance!  But - boy, amazing just scratched the surface!

Here is Aaron all ready to go at 6am this 24th of July, 2013.  He's 11 years old.  I am so emotional thinking about the 11 year old sons that volunteered to battle so that their fathers could keep their covenant in the army of Heleman!  I can't even imagine the faith it would require to allow my son to do that!

And - here we are - claiming our spot!  :)

Words cannot express the spirit that was present for this part of the parade.  TWO THOUSAND!!!! young men between the ages of 11-20 -- in costume -- singing and chanting.  It. was. absolutely. incredible.

I could not hold back the tears.  I'm not sure there were too many dry eyes in the whole crowd.

Seriously.

How can you not tear up looking at the honor and goodness and strength and example in this one young man?!?

Definitely an experience that is engraved in our hearts forever.

We partied the rest of the day!

See?  haha - completely wore out!

This kid LOVES to play games!  Good thing his grandma and grandpa do too - and have taught him how to play most of the games he loves.  :)

Love spending time with this pretty lady!

These girlies played all kinds of stuff all day up here in Krystal's room.  :)

We spent the evening with the Jenson clan - but, I failed to get pics.

What a memorable day!
