The YW were in charge of the Ward Halloween Carnival again this year - and, I have to admit - we pretty much rocked it. Best party of the year! We kept most of the old - and added lotsa new!
Krystal inherited a beautiful, fancy witch costume from her BFF and felt right at home in in it. She searched Pinterest for the perfect eye make up - and was more than pleased with how she looked. :)
With the exception of Miss Krys - I made all the rest of us costumes out of cheap craft tees from Wally's. I have to admit - I was quite pleased with the results. All of our costumes cost about 12$ total (I guess I can't count Marissa's skirt in that, because she paid for the skirt - the tulle and elastic waistband were probably 8$). I was especially happy with Marissa's TARDIS costume.
This is the awesome backdrop we put together for the Ward Carnival.
New at the Carnival - Life. Size. Candyland!! It was really SO fun. We have amazing talent in our ward. The YW President painted all the props in here.
The Mr. Mint game was a croquet type game through candy cane tunnels.
Also new: Glow in the Dark Nightmare Before Christmas! We had several Young Women and other ward members create the props/decorations we used in this area. It was spectacular!
Check out that sweet Oogie Boogie Man!
Jack Skellington Plinko was a big hit! -- especially glowing in the dark! (Oh - and I painted that thing!!) Just Sayin' - me and Marissa made all of the Game Signs too. :)
See all those spider snowflakes? Yeah. That was one of my jobs. :) Isn't that Santa amazing? The game here was a wreath that the kids threw a Jack Skellington ping pong ball into and a life size fireplace that the kids got to try to throw a Jack Skellington frisby into for a prize.
Marissa manned the Ring-Around-Zero's-Nose in the Nightmare Before Christmas room. Zero had a glowing pumpkin nose! It was super cute. Marissa's TARDIS light is glowing there on the left. She's with Ellie (on the right). The kids loved throwing glow rings onto Zero's nose.

Talk about a party with everything - dinner was served, games and treats for all, a costume dance parade, best costumes awards - it was really fantabulous. Tyler dressed up as a "stick figure". Absolutely NO ONE knew what he was. hahaha. Nailed it, apparently.
The very next week, Ty and I got to go to a super fun adult only Halloween Party. I loved all of Ty's faces in these pics Marissa got of us before we left. I really had to pick and choose my two favorites. It was dang hard!! I was laughing like crazy looking at all of them again. We have so much fun together.
Class Halloween Parties. Krystal left a trail of orange feathers everywhere she went. ;) October is super busy!! Fun busy, though.
The Jenson clan had their big Halloween Bash the day after Halloween. We were all pretty burned out with dressing up by then - so we just did the bare minimum and wore our tees. We always have a good time together.
Check out Marissa's Dr. Who shoes we made (in the picture with Anaka). I need the pics of those, Marissa! They turned out awesome! Marissa said, "Halloween is the best holiday ever!" at least one time every day the entire month of October. :)
Happy Halloween 2013!
