The Irish 5K

Hanna's school had a 5K run that was incredibly cheap, so we were able to participate in it as a family - SO FUN!!  It was Tyler's very first 5K - and he did fantastic!  It was also Krystal's first 5K - and she planned to ride her scooter along side us running.  But - scooters were not allowed - so she just did it - crying the whole way - but finished nonetheless!  :)

I stuck with Miss Krystal the whole time - so pics of her is what we get.  :)  Here she is pre-race -

Marissa and Aaron stuck together for the run.  Here's Krystal at mile marker 2!  I'm so proud of her.  I really pushed her to run as much of it as she could - despite the tears!  And she actually wasn't too far behind the rest of the gang - just 5 minutes or so.  She's a trooper and knows that she can do it now!

Almost done!!!  Crying plus running = very red face.  What a cutie.

This girl has a ton of support.  Look at how proud her brother is to see her cross that finish line!  And her proud (and puffy) face at the end. :)  Way-ta-go!

This was our first 5K together as a whole family.  I hope we have more in store for us down the road.  We felt like champs!

I am seriously DYING about this awesome picture.  I told these guys to strike a "winning" pose for me.  Marissa and Aaron immediately decided to kiss their muscles - without collaborating with each other - Krystal immediately looked at Aaron and Marissa and then lifted her arm to do the same - and I got this "Hey! Where's my muscle?" look outta her when I snapped the shot.  hahaha!  #mykidsarestudmuffins

Won't be too long now before the hubs and I can run together instead of one of us having to stay with a little.  I wonder if we would motivate each other or slow each other down?  :)  Sure love my man!
Proud of us!

  1. That is awesome!! Way to go! I love the pics throughout and the aftershot winners pic was the best. I want to do all these 5Ks with you guy's! Keep it up so we can do one when I'm there - who knows when?! Krystal's red face is hysterical - good for her! Kent
