Tyler is a therapist. He has worked for Wasatch Mental Health for many years. He has helped hundreds of people with severe mental health issues, addictions, depression, and marriage problems. He does this without complaint and with very little recognition - and, not only that - he ENJOYS it!
This past year, Tyler has received several honors (in my opinion) for how amazing he is. :) To help some of his clients at Wasatch Mental Health, Tyler organized and started a group that he calls "Thinking Matters". This group has grown and grown in just a year - and has become so well known with its success that judges in court will advise that people have to complete the 'Thinking Matters' group to fulfill consequences for certain actions. Tyler was recognized with a pin for his quality of service for Wasatch Mental Health for his success with the 'Thinking Matters' group. He put together this group and runs two of them a week without a pay raise ... just because he saw a need and implemented a program he felt would help people. And it does.
He also has "evolved" the group 'Dual Diagnosis' (helping people with both a mental illness as well as a drug/alcohol addiction) - and fights to keep those people safe (as they are very prone to suicide). He puts a lot of time into educating and planning ... and RUNNING these groups. Most therapists will run 1-2 groups/week with Wasatch Mental Health. Tyler runs SIX groups every single week.
He is the real deal.
Just recently, he was asked by the Wasatch Mental Health Administration to give a 75 minute presentation on his "Thinking Matters" group at a Mental Health Conference out in Logan. This is a huge honor as Tyler will be presenting to hundreds of mental health colleagues, police officers, lawyers, and judges that will be able to implement his program (his BABY!) in their own programs.
And, again - he will do this without a pay raise. He will do it willingly and with a smile, because he knows it works. He knows it will help people that struggle with their mental health.
he. is. the. real. deal.
I'm so proud of this man and wanted to recognize his hard work and goodness. We go about our lives and don't always realize the greatness going on around us. I'm thankful for all that Tyler does to help others. He is so good at what he does.
way to go tyler. you are amazing.
