Marissa's 17th Birthday

Nope.  I am totally in denial - no ifs, ands, or buts - it just canNOT be real.  17?  Seventeen.  SEVENTEEN????  S.E.V.E.N.T.E.E.N.  Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Happy birthday to a beautiful, sincere, compassionate, funny, caring, smart, inspiring, spiritual and all around lovely 17 year old:  MyMarissa!!  She indulged us and wore the birthday crown the morning of her birthday - we all had to wake up extra early to sing to her before she left for school!  And we caught her right in the middle of her scripture reading (she is such a great girl!)

Then we got to meet up with her favorite person in the world (M) to go to her favorite restaurant in the world (The Olive Garden) for lunch:

She even got a dessert this time!!

She had to hurry back to school, though, because - of course, she did NOT want to miss any more than she had to.  LOL!

Later that day, we hiked the Y for our Young Women Activity.  What a great way to end her 17th birthday!  We had a great time.  Dang hard hike.  :)

It was like 1000 degrees even though it was 7:00 in the evening.  Holy COW, it was hot!

Almost there!

One of the awesomest yw leaders made birthday cake cookies for our treat - and everyone sang Marissa happy birthday.  It was really sweet.

Grandma Pat and Grandpa Brent, of course, let Marissa choose her favorite birthday dinner for a get-together.  She chose BBQ - hotdogs and hamburgers!  And "Better-Than" Cake for dessert.  And a few rounds of Snarf were definitely played.  We love gma and gpa's backyard hangouts!

New bedspread!  Orange!  She's one happy girl.

And, I believe this was a momentous occasion, because - this night happened just after school ended - so, Marissa was technically a senior at that moment.  So, here are the three "seniors" in our family.  ;)  She sure loves these two.  So do I.  :)

Happy Birthday, DeeDee!  Love you sooooooooo many.
